Late Shri Venkatesh Sivaraman
Late Shri Venkatesh Sivaraman was a visionary whose work bridged two very different worlds: pioneering sustainable solid waste management in India and shaping the country’s modern marketing landscape. Long before environmental responsibility became a national priority, he championed segregation, recycling, and resource recovery. His approach blended practicality with foresight, inspiring municipalities, institutions, and young professionals to view waste not as a burden but as a system that could be transformed through innovation and discipline.
Equally remarkable was his instinctive marketing acumen. He played a pivotal role in creating and nurturing iconic brands such as Crocodile, helping redefine casual wear for an emerging Indian Economy. His strategic clarity, deep understanding of consumer behaviour, and ability to build trust around a brand made him a respected figure in the textile and apparel industry. He was also instrumental in establishing Bombay Dyeing in South India, expanding its reach and reputation.

Late Shri V. Sivaraman
Shri V. Sivaraman’s life is a testament to ambition shaped by humility. Born in the quiet village of Puducode in Kerala, he rose from modest beginnings to build an extraordinary business empire. By 1984, through sheer determination and sharp business instinct, he had established a thriving enterprise valued at nearly INR 100 crore—an achievement rare for his time.
His most celebrated accomplishment was bringing Bombay Dyeing to South India and transforming it into a dominant force with an almost unrivalled market presence. His deep understanding of consumer behaviour, his flair for brand positioning, and his relentless drive earned him the enduring title “Marketing Maverick.”
Throughout his formative years and well beyond, he was affectionately and respectfully known as “Bombay Dyeing Sivaraman,” a name that reflected both his professional identity and the legacy he built. His journey continues to inspire generations striving to rise through grit, vision, and integrity.
